Recently, the "Northeast" shield TBM independently developed by Tangxing Technology is about to start shield excavation operations in the 66kV incoming line project of Yuhong New Town Substation in the first phase of Shenyang Metro Line 3. This marks the project officially entering a new stage of shield tunneling.

 

The 66kV incoming line shield tunnel project of Yuhong New Town Substation is 1,654 meters long. The section excavation requires navigating through five consecutive small turns, with the minimum curve radius being only 250 meters. During the excavation process, the shield TBM not only has to cross an artificial lake but also traverse composite strata composed of backfill soil, gravel, sand layers, and other geological conditions. The trajectory of the entire shield tunnel intertwines with the stratum structure, forming an extremely challenging problem.

 

The "Northeast" shield TBM has an excavation diameter of 4.29 meters and a total length of 57 meters. In order to cope with the complex working conditions in the project, the Tangxing Technology design team has adopted a series of innovative technologies including precise hole expansion of the cutter head, gradual main engine design, automatic guidance with multi-stage steering and multi-inflection point segment lifting. The integration of these cutting-edge technologies ensures that the "Northeast" shield TBM can be advanced efficiently and stably in a complex and changeable engineering environment, providing a strong guarantee for the smooth progress of the project.

 

The application of the "Northeast" shield TBM not only injected new vitality into the construction of Shenyang Metro Line 3, but also built a stronger barrier for the travel safety of residents along the line. In the future, with the completion of this project, it will effectively solve the power supply safety problem of Shenyang Metro Line 3 and bring a more convenient and safer experience to people's daily travel.
